Settling In

turningcolorsIt wouldn't be the first time Hazel's simply gone off the radar though she'll have to avoid the American New England area for a while now. Heavens there's probably a missing person's report out on her. People get so nervous nowadays whenever someone runs off. It's made disappearing a bit trickier but the world is vast and Hazel has the Nexus on her side now. There's no need to ever head into the small Scottish town Reynard's home is closest to since she can do all her shopping in the Nexus.
Hazel pushes open the cabin's door and sets several bags of cleaning supplies down on the entryway floor. A glint shines in her eyes as she looks over the quaint home. It's time to get to work.
Winter's grip makes moving furniture outside not an option but she'll settle for scooting it all off to one side and then back to the other while she cleans. Brushes the cobwebs from every corner and scours years of collected dust and smoke residue out of every inch of the small cabin. Polishes the bathroom until it's gleaming and the taps run better than they have in years without the mineral deposit buildup that had been slowing them to a trickle. Tidied up every unorganized pile of papers, books, and magazines into nice little organized shelves where everything has its place.
She'll have to wait for winter to pass to air out the furniture and beat the dust from them, but there's a real sense of pride and accomplishment as she sinks into one of the chairs. Savors a nice cup of cocoa and watches the snow gently fall outside her winter home.
Reynard's been kind enough to offer Hazel a place to stay, the least she could do was clean it for him while he's out for the Season.
